Say goodbye to your old electronics! Council Member Linda Lee (D-23) is hosting a free e-waste collection event on Saturday, June 8.

The event, which is held in partnership with the Lower East Side Ecology Center, will take place at Alley Athletic Playground’s parking lot, across from 79-25 Winchester Blvd.- the Creedmoor facility in Queens Village.

Residents who participate in the e-waste event can avoid a potential $100 fine that is imposed for improperly disposing of electronics with regular trash or recycling.

Schools, households, nonprofits and small businesses are encouraged to drop off as many electronics as they want, and staff will be available to help unload the materials from cars. Data security is guaranteed for all of the devices, as older computers, external hard drives and other materials with sensitive information will be shredded during recycling.
