A new Capital One Lounge with exclusive amenities is set to come to JFK Terminal 4’s Retail Hall. JFKIAT – the operator of Terminal 4 at JFK International Airport – and Capital One Travel shared news of the project earlier this week.
Travelers are in for a one-of-a-kind experience, as the 13,000-square-foot lounge will offer an array of unique food and beverage services and an expansive tarmac view of the famed airport. The new lounge’s decor pays homage to the colorful charm of New York City through design elements crafted from local artists.
The Brooklyn based Shakúff Custom Lighting will install a hanging glass structure that will serve as a focal point for the lounge. The piece will feature small, suspended glass stones that represent the vibrant streets of Manhattan. Above the main bar of the lounge, another glass fixture will feature a combination of hand-blown glass and brass elements to symbolize the flora and fauna found within the concrete jungle. The Capital One Lounge will also feature original artwork across various mediums from local artists and artisans, including original works on wood, acrylic, silkscreen prints, paintings on canvas/paper and textile pieces.
Travelers will be able to have a unique culinary and beverage experience in the new lounge. The in-lounge bodega will serve up famous New York City staples such as coffee and bagels, and a specially trained cheese monger will offer local artisan cheese sourced from the Hudson Valley. Additionally, the Capital One Lounge will offer partnerships with mixologists, coffee roasters and bakeries to showcase the array of diverse food and drinks the city has to offer. The selected local brewery partner will continue Capital One’s “Perfect Airport Beer” program, which challenges local brewers to create what they believe is the perfect airport beer. The exclusive brew is then served at their respective Capital One Lounge location.
