The St. John’s ICARE Foundation in the Rockaways welcomed representatives from M&T Bank Healthcare Commercial Banking for a comprehensive tour of Episcopal Health Services‘ (EHS) Clinical Learning Center on Thursday, July 25.
Led by Nancy Leghart, Executive Director of St. John’s ICARE Foundation, the tour included David Clarke, Senior Vice President from M&T Bank Healthcare Commercial Banking, and five of his colleagues. The group was introduced to EHS’s advanced simulation technology by Eric Stern, Director of Simulation, who demonstrated the VICTORIA S2200 labor and delivery patient simulator, a key asset in the health system’s educational and training programs.
Clarke expressed his appreciation for the hospital’s mission and the impact of the learning center. “It’s always interesting to see the learning center in action,” Clarke said. “It’s very rewarding to support the St. John’s Episcopal Hospital’s mission and to contribute to the community.”
Following the tour, the M&T team took part in distributing fresh produce and non-perishable items to the local community. The biweekly food distribution, organized by the EHS Population Health team in collaboration with The Campaign Against Hunger, took place outside of St. John’s Episcopal Hospital and served numerous residents in the Rockaway area.
“M&T Bank demonstrates a deep commitment to addressing food insecurities and supporting community initiatives,” said Leghart. “They have been a valued EHS partner, and the M&T Charitable Foundation has supported St. John’s ICARE Foundation projects. We are truly appreciative of their support of EHS, the hospital and the community we serve.”
The event underscored the strong partnership between St. John’s ICARE Foundation and M&T Bank, with both organizations working together to enhance healthcare services and address food insecurity in the Far Rockaway community.
