The Queens Tourism Council will once again operate an information kiosk at the US Open, providing tennis fans with tips and advice about what to do in Queens during the final grand slam event of the year.

The United States Tennis Association (USTA) has loaned a kiosk at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center to the Queens Tourism Council for the upcoming US Open, which takes place between Monday, Aug. 26, and Sunday, Sep. 8.

This is the 12th time that the USTA has allowed the Queens Tourism Council to operate an information and referral center at the US Open, with the practice first starting at the 2012 US Open.

Members of the Queens Tourism Council will be on hand throughout the tournament to offer tips on the best local restaurants, hotels, cultural organizations and shopping opportunities in the borough.

The information kiosk additionally features a QR code, directing US Open visitors to a website providing tips about great restaurants along the 7 train.

The kiosk, which will be staffed by volunteers who live in the area, will provide Queens In Your Pocket guidebooks, a borough restaurant guide from the Queens Chamber of Commerce, promotional materials from local culturals such as Flushing Town Hall and Queens Center tote bags.

A number of local leaders, elected officials and representatives from the Queens Tourism Council gathered at the National Tennis Center on Wednesday, Aug. 21, to celebrate the return of the Queens information kiosk.

Council Member Sandra Ung, representing Council District 20, Сommunity Вoard 3 Chair Frank Taylor, Queens Economic Development Corporation Executive Director Seth Bornstein and Rob MacKay, Director of Queens Tourism Council, all attended the launch of the 2024 tourism information kiosk on Wednesday.

The information kiosk is located just north of the food court between Arthur Ashe and Louis Armstrong Stadiums at the National Tennis Center and will operate throughout the two-week-long US Open.
