Wells Fargo celebrated the grand opening of its first branch in Queens on Wednesday, Nov. 20, marking a milestone with the unveiling of its new location in Little Neck.
The addition brings the bank’s total branches in New York State to more than 70, with 26 branches already operating across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and The Bronx.
The Little Neck branch, located at 248-40 Northern Blvd., showcases Wells Fargo’s new design concept, which integrates a multi-sensory environment featuring advanced sound and lighting, digital messaging displays, and a spacious layout aimed at enhancing customer consultation and interaction. The branch was also constructed to meet the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards, reflecting the bank’s commitment to sustainability.
“We put a lot of thought into the design we have at Little Neck,” said Silvia Lara, Wells Fargo’s District Branch Network Senior Manager. “It was really designed with the customer’s needs in mind. We wanted to create an inviting, homey environment where customers feel welcome, comfortable, and able to have meaningful conversations with us in a space that provides both privacy and great technology.”
The grand opening included a community-focused highlight: a $50,000 grant to Accompany Capital, a nonprofit organization that provides strategic financial services to immigrants and refugees in New York. The donation is part of Wells Fargo’s ongoing effort to build relationships with local businesses and community organizations.
“That was just the first of many philanthropic efforts we’ll be making in New York,” said Joe Rupolo, Wells Fargo’s Senior Communications Consultant. “We’re incredibly committed to serving the Queens community.”
Lara echoed the sentiment, emphasizing Wells Fargo’s intent to connect with Queens residents and businesses. “You can only imagine the extensive research and preparation that went into this expansion,” she said. “We made sure to equip ourselves with the right tools, resources, and partnerships to meet customer needs effectively.”
The new branch aims to combine “the feeling of a small bank with the services of a big bank,” Lara said, adding that plans are already underway to strengthen ties with the local community.
This year, Wells Fargo has also expanded its footprint with two new branches in Brooklyn and Long Island, signaling more growth ahead. “We really want to position ourselves to reach more communities,” Lara said. “The future is bright for us, and more is coming.”
