This February, the Friends of Ridgewood Library are asking community members to show their love for the library by participating in a special fundraising effort as part of National Library Lovers Month.
The organization invites local residents to make a monetary donation, no matter the size, to support the library’s collection and future programming. In exchange for their generosity, donors will have the opportunity to express their appreciation for the library in a unique way.
Supporters are encouraged to stop by the Ridgewood Library during select hours to make a donation and pick up a paper heart. On these hearts, people can write down their reasons for loving the library, which will then be displayed throughout the library for all to see.
These heartfelt messages will create a visual reminder of how much the Ridgewood Library means to the community, with every donation helping to enrich the library’s resources.
Those unable to visit the library in person can still participate in the fundraiser by making a donation online. Be sure to select “Ridgewood” under the ‘Where to Direct Donation’ section to ensure contributions support the Ridgewood Library collection.
All funds raised during the month will go directly toward purchasing new materials and resources for the library.
Residents are encouraged to stop by Ridgewood Library at 20-12 Madison St. during the following fundraising hours to make a donation and fill out a heart:
- Wednesday, Feb. 5, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Thursday, Feb. 6, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
