June is about to get a little sweeter with the return of the Queens County Farm Museum’s beloved Strawberry Festival, taking place Saturday, June 7, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 73-50 Little Neck Pkwy. in Floral Park.

This family-friendly event offers a full day of interactive fun, food, live music, and strawberry-themed activities for all ages. Attendees can take part in educational stations that explore how strawberries grow, play strawberry-themed word games, and enjoy classic lawn games like “pin the stem on the strawberry.” One of the most anticipated events of the day is the strawberry cream pie-eating contest—sure to delight participants and onlookers alike.

The festival’s highlight is the Strawberry Costume Parade at noon, where guests are invited to dress in their berry best and march alongside fellow festivalgoers through the farm grounds. The parade offers plenty of photo ops, prizes, and light-hearted fun for families and friends.

If the afternoon’s fun and games make guests work up an appetite, there will be a variety of food and treats to enjoy, including strawberry shortcake, strawberry smoothies and lemonade, chocolate-covered strawberries, and strawberry-themed merchandise.

While access to the event itself is free, guests can make the day even more fun by purchasing an activity passport for $20, giving visitors the opportunity to participate in five fun and unique activities, from making strawberry lip balm, strawberry quilt squares, making your own strawberry jam, and a strawberry scavenger hunt, to name a few.

The Queens County Farm Museum is host to a variety of fun and engaging activities year-round, and during the spring and summer, it has plenty of fun events and activities to participate in during the months of May and June. From their Annual Apple Blossom Carnival Saturdays in May, to their sheep shearing festival on May 18, and an Alice in Wonderland themed afternoon tea party on May 31, there is so much fun to explore at this historic Queens gem.

Since its inception 300 years ago, the Queens County Farm and Museum, the city’s only remaining farm, has provided an escape from the city to enjoy nature and farm life and educate and enrich visitors of all ages. The NYC historical landmark includes historical structures such as the Adriance Farmhouse, which was restored in 1986, barns and livestock, as well as an orchard, apiary, herb garden, and greenhouse complex.
