Looking for a lively weekend hangout that won’t break the bank? Add Tipsy Tequila and Taco Bar to your go-to list this season.

Located at 213-11 41st Ave. in Bayside, the newly opened venue is already drawing crowds with its festive atmosphere, budget-friendly prices and delicious tacos.

The space, which opened in early May, takes over the former site of the Pour House Bar & Grill, a neighborhood fixture known for its laid-back sports bar vibes. Now reimagined with a fresh, vibrant concept, Tipsy Tequila keeps the spirit of community alive while adding a fun, Latin-inspired twist.

The expansive restaurant caters to both casual and energetic crowds. One side boasts a sports bar setup — complete with a faux taco truck for fast bites — while the other features a sit-down dining area with colorful, Instagram-worthy décor.

“We thought it would be a great opportunity for us to do something different,” said John Ryan, who goes by J.R., one of the restaurant’s co-owners. “We want more people to come into the area, so this is a whole different vibe, and we still have a sports vibe as well as the tacos.”

J.R. owns Tipsy Tequila alongside Mark Boccia and Anthony Chiodi. He and Boccia are already well-known in the Bayside hospitality scene as owners of neighborhood staples like OSP Beer Garden, located just across the street, and Bourbon Street on Bell Blvd., as well as Austin Ale House in Kew Gardens. When the former Pour House location became available, the Queens natives saw an opportunity to expand their local footprint with a new family-friendly concept — just in time for summer.

“We absolutely want to keep it reasonable here,” J.R. said. “We want people, families, to come in and enjoy themselves, and feel relaxed and not worried about their wallets.”

Tipsy Tequila’s menu delivers on that promise with something for everyone — starting with crowd-pleasers like tipsy nachos, crispy wings, and burrito bowls. Sandwich lovers can choose from options like the mahi sandwich or Mexican torta, both served with fries. But the real stars of the show are the tacos — offered in threes on soft or hard corn tortillas and cooked fresh to order.

Popular picks include the Gringo taco, featuring slow-cooked beef and birria consommé, mahi mahi, al pastor, and the plant-based Beyond taco. A well-stocked bar offers a rotating selection of draft beers, tequila, and specialty cocktails like the Lychee Paradise, Espresso Reposado, and classic margaritas, with happy hour specials running throughout the week.

On the sports bar side, guests can catch a game while ordering from the taco truck counter, sip a cold beer, or relax at the bar. As the weather warms, large front windows will open up to the street, creating an indoor-outdoor flow that’s perfect for Memorial Day weekend and beyond.

Tipsy Tequila and Taco Bar is open seven days a week, from 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. For updates, follow them on Instagram @TipsyTequilaNYC.
