BEEP helps St. Saviour’s

Queens Borough President Helen Marshall (center) and Deputy Borough President Karen Koslowitz (second from right) met with supporters of the restoration of St. Saviour’s church on 58th Street in Maspeth on Monday, May 5.
The Borough President’s office provided $100,000 to support a relocation plan developed for the church by the Juniper Park Civic Association (JPCA) and the Maspeth Development Corporation, which matched an amount donated by State Senator Serphin Maltese.
The structure will be disassembled and reconstructed at its eventual new home in All Faiths Cemetery in Middle Village. Bob Holden, President of the JPCA (left), and fellow members of the organization have been leading the fight to save St. Saviour’s for nearly two years.
