Arrest in attempted stabbing

A woman has been arrested and arraigned for allegedly trying to stab another on the street.

The incident occurred on July 18 at 65th Street and Shaler Avenue when, according to the district attorney, Merjema Ramusevic ran up behind the female victim while holding a dagger above her head. She then lunged, attempting to stab the victim in the chest. A witness pushed Ramusevic’s arm, stopping the attack. However, the perp continued to wave the dagger in the victim’s face while yelling and cursing. The weapon was found in Ramusevic’s purse, according to the DA.
