A 24-year-old man was shot dead Monday outside the same South Jamaica home where the year’s first murder victim was killed.

Darrell Lynch was shot in the leg as he was standing by his car outside a house on 113th Avenue between Sutphin Boulevard and 155th Street around 7:30 p.m, police said.

After he was hit by the bullet, Lynch got into his car and crashed into the house, and by the time emergency responders got him to Jamaica Hospital, he was dead, police said.

Authorities described the gunman as a heavy-set black man wearing all white and a matching doo-rag.

Earlier this year on New Year’s Day, 22-year-old Julio Mora was shot dead inside the same building on 113th Avenue.

Police arrested Sheldon Smith, 26, several weeks later in mid-May and charged him with Mora’s murder.

Relatives at Lynch’s home about a dozen blocks away from the crime scene declined to comment Tuesday morning.
