An 88-year-old man was killed and four firefighters injured in a Sunday morning house fire in East Elmhurst, according to the NYPD. Firefighters received a call just after 4:30 a.m. that a blaze had broken out on the first floor of a two-and-a-half-story brick home on 87th Street.

The man was discovered unconscious with severe burns and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel, police said.

His name was not released pending family notification.
