Cops are investigating the death of a man who was found in a car outside of an auto parts store in Jackson Heights.

According to police, at 7:02 a.m. on Sept. 30, officers from the 115th Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding an assault outside of an Auto Zone, located at 95-01 Northern Blvd.

Upon their arrival, cops found 26-year-old Darryl Whitfield of 167th Street in St. Albans in the back seat of a car parked at the scene, unconscious and unresponsive, with trauma to his head.

EMS responded to the location and pronounced Whitfield dead at the scene.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death. The investigation is ongoing.
