Police collared a pickup truck driver who fatally struck an senior woman as she attempted to cross a street in Flushing last month.

Police say that Jian Qu, 50, was driving on Linden Place in a Nissan pickup truck Sept. 3 at 11:55 a.m. After stopping at the intersection, Qu made a left turn onto 35th Avenue and struck 78-year-old Yi Zhan, who was crossing the street in a marked crosswalk, according to authorities.

Zhan, who sustained a head injury and other critical injuries as a result of the incident, was rushed to New-York Presbyterian Hospital, where she ultimately succumbed to her injuries, police said.

Qu was arrested Oct. 10 and charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian and failure to exercise due care.
