A Brooklyn man injured in a double shooting at a College Point parking lot over the weekend has died, police announced on Monday.

Authorities said that Twayne Summers, 28, was mortally wounded while riding with two other men inside of a black Hyundai Sonata at the College Point Multiplex parking lot, off the corner of Ulmer Street and the Whitestone Expressway, at 4:05 a.m. on Jan. 19.

Officers from the 109th Precinct, while responding to a 911 call about the shooting, found Summers in the driver’s seat with a gunshot wound to the head. A 37-year-old man in the front passenger’s seat sustained a gunshot wound to his back; the third individual in the car, a 36-year-old man in the rear passenger seat, was unharmed.

Paramedics rushed Summers and the 37-year-old man to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital in Flushing. Police said that Summers succumbed to his injuries on Jan. 20; the other victim was listed in stable condition.

During a preliminary investigation, police learned that the three men may have been involved in a dispute with unknown individuals at a local nightclub earlier on Jan. 19. The three men got into the Hyundai Sonata and drove away from the club.

Upon arriving at the College Point Multiplex parking lot, sources said, an unidentified shooter in an unknown vehicle drove up alongside the Hyundai, fired multiple shots, then fled the scene.

There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.

The deadly shooting occurred less than four months after another Brooklyn man was shot and killed in the multiplex parking lot early on the morning of Oct. 1, 2018.  Jaquan Campbell, 25, of Brooklyn was gunned down shortly after he was involved in a dispute at the Angels Strip Club in Flushing. Two suspects were arrested in Florida weeks later, and a third individual connected to the shooting was picked up in November.

Sources familiar with the investigation stated that detectives are looking into any possible links between the October homicide and Saturday’s double shooting.
