C.B. 7 OK’s Group Home

by VICTOR ROSS CB 7 overwhelmingly approved the opening of a new home for eight developmentally disabled women, to be operated by the Mercy Home for Children, St. Mary’s Nativity Church.
Located at 47-01 Parsons Blvd., Flushing, the home will accommodate residents attending six hours of sheltered workshop or day treatment. The clients are all Queens residents, with at least two from the immediate neighborhood in C.B. 7.
The home will be staffed 24 hours a day, with a minimum of three on duty during the day, and two at night.
Mercy Home has been in existence since 1862, serving persons of races and creeds who are developmentally disabled. They presently operate six hones in Brooklyn and Queens.
