This year all but promises to be a memorable one for the varsity basketball teams vying for the Brooklyn/Queens Diocesan championship, as well as a possible city or state crown. There are marquee names galore and talent all throughout the league.
Atop the list sits the Christ the King Royals, a team that lost in the Catholic High School Athletic Association city championship the past two years to Rice. The team has lost several key players, including Mark McCarroll, Jave Meade, Kason Mims and Willie Poole, but returns more than enough to compensate and maintain its hold on the B/Q Diocesan.
