Feb. 5, 2019 Staff Report

Police are searching for two men in connection to Sunday’s deadly shooting at the 90th Street Station, which has already resulted in the arrest of the alleged gunman.

The two suspects, whose identities are not known to authorities, are both described as Hispanic and between 30 to 35 years old. One of the suspects was last seen wearing a dark-colored hat, a red scarf over his face, dark sweatshirt and white sneakers.

The second suspect (seen in surveillance video below) has a slim build, according to police, and was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black sneakers.

Video and photos of the two unidentified suspects, who are wanted for questioning after 20-year-old Abel Mosso was shot to death at a station platform two days ago, were released by authorities yesterday—the same day 26-year-old Ramiro Gutierrez was arrested.

Gutierrez, who police believe is the gunman behind the broad daylight shooting at the 90 St – Elmhurst Av station, faces charges of murder, gang assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

Authorities said yesterday that Gutierrez is a known MS-13 member, and that the victim is part of the 18th Street gang, a rival group. Despite the gang ties, police at the time said it was too early to pinpoint what the motive behind the fight and eventual shooting was.

“We don’t know if this was a chance encounter, if they knew each other, [or] if this is the third time they’ve have a fight this week,” said Dermot Shea, NYPD Chief of Detectives. This is [a] preliminary investigation.”

Gutierrez and at least one other person, Shea said, were disputing with Mosso inside a Manhattan-bound 7 train en route to the 90th Street Station just before 1 p.m. on Feb. 3.

The dispute turned physical when the train reached the station, with the fight spilling onto the platform.

A graphic, viral video of the incident caught the scuffle on the platform, where five to six shots can eventually be heard.

Mosso was later pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.
