Students from Hillcrest and Thomas Edison high schools were slated to join 75 student leaders from 15 city high schools in a formal conference at the United Nations this week to decide how to allocate $25,000 they had raised to help flood victims in Mozambique.
The event is sponsored by Common Cents New York, a non-profit organization that annually involves 500,000 students in a citywide penny drive, called Penny Harvest, to raise funds for community service. This year
