The most obvious way for everyone to help is to obey the laws. Anyone who lives near or frequents school areas knows that havoc is often created by well-meaning people who block bus stops, double or triple-park, so that their favorite students need not walk even one extra inch. Enter havoc! Children who ride the school buses could not always have safe entry or exit from the bus, nor could some students who were transported by private vehicles.
Since the safety of every child is paramount, the commanding officer or the 105th Precinct, Deputy Inspector Kotowski, is informing all schools within the 105th Precinct that traffic regulations, especially in the area or schools) will be enforced in order to protect the children. It is too bad that previous attempts to get voluntary cooperation railed, Now, drivers are instructed that the proper procedure to follow is to park one or two blocks from the school and walk with the student/s to or from school. Please try to accept this as a positive step. You may prevent an injury or other accident. The Police Department and students beg your cooperation. No one WANTS to give you a ticket!
