MIDDLE VILLAGE — A woman was hit by a police officer on a motorcycle after she stepped out onto Northern Boulevard from between two parked cars, police said.
Sgt. Richard Kemmler said the victim walked out onto the street at about 12:25 p.m. Sunday and was accidentally hit by the officer. The woman was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in serious condition, he said, and the officer was in stable condition.
