Break out your sneakers and fly your American flags, Laurelton and Rosedale.

The 14th annual Laurelton Memorial Day parade, held by Veterans of Foreign Wars Col. Edward O. Gourdin Post 5298, and other Laurelton civic groups, was slated to take to the streets Monday.

The parade is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. at the intersection of Francis Lewis and Merrick boulevards. Marchers will head down Merrick Boulevard and then south on 225th Street, stopping at the Veteran's Memorial Triangle for a ceremony.

The parade is being sponsored by the Laurelton Lions Club, the Garden Club of Laurelton and the Federated Blocks of Laurelton, in conjunction with VFW Post 5298.

About 30 groups are expected to participate, including civic and business groups and public school students, including the Campus Magnet High School Humanities and Arts Band.

In Rosedale, a parade is schedule to start at 10:15 a.m. at the North Fork Bank at the intersection of 242nd Street and Mayda Road. The parade, sponsored by the Rosedale Civic Association, will march north on 242nd Street to Veteran's Square at Francis Lewis Boulevard and Sunrise Highway.

A memorial service will be held at the square at 11 a.m. For more information or to register to march, call 718-978-4701.
