Two Jamaica teenagers were charged with murder Thursday in connection with a Valentine's Day shooting that left a 32-year-old man dead, District Attorney Richard Brown said.

Christina Carter, 17, of 144-15 123rd Avenue and Vincent Edwards, 19, of 143-07 Lakewood Avenue, were arraigned in Queens Criminal Court Thursday by Judge Robert Raciti on charges of second degree murder, burglary, attempted robbery and criminal possession of a weapon stemming from an attempted robbery at the Lakewood Avenue apartment of William Wheeler on Feb. 14, according Brown. If convicted, Brown said, they face up to 25 years to life in prison. Both defendants were ordered held without bail, Brown said. In addition, police are still seeking two alleged accomplices.

According to Brown, Edwards, Carter and the two other suspects forcibly entered the apartment of Wheeler, who lived downstairs from Edwards, in an attempt to rob him. Once inside the apartment, Brown said, one of the unapprehended suspects shot and killed Wheeler.

Edwards and Wheeler were arrested yesterday by detectives from the 103rd precinct and arraigned in the afternoon, Brown said.
