When there are multiple pills to be taken and numerous prescription medications piled up, keeping them all up-to-date and properly administered can sometimes become confusing and burdensome.
That is why several dozen people piled their pills into brown bags and brought them to Sterling Glen of Forest Hills recently, where Dr. Regina Ginzburg, associate clinical professor of pharmacy at St. John’s University, helped sort through the medications, checked expiration dates, made sure that no two have negative interactions, and explained about dosages and the proper way to take each of the prescriptions.
The free “Brown Bag It” prescription screening is one of many programs hosted by Sterling Glen of Forest Hills, an assisted living senior residence, for the benefit of its residents and the community-at-large.
