Dine for $19.86 as restaurants honor Mets World Series

In Celebration of the 20th anniversary of the New York Mets 1986 World Series, dozens of Queens restaurants will be offering full course meals for just $19.86 as part of the third annual &#82202006 Discover Queens Restaurant Week” running from September 18 to September 28.
&#8220Discover Queens Restaurant Week is a wonderful event that promotes the diverse cuisine in our great borough,” Councilmember John Liu said. &#8220It boosts our local economy and supports area businesses. We encourage everyone to come grab a bite to eat in Flushing.”
&#8220Discover Queens Restaurant Week” is co-sponsored by the Destination Flushing Cuisine Association, the Flushing Business Improvement District (BID), Queens Borough President Helen Marshall, the Queens Economic Development Corporation (QEDC), and the New York Mets organization.
&#8220Flushing restaurants are diverse and offer great cuisines in unique atmospheres,” said Michelle Stoddart, Marketing and Tourism Director for the Queens Economic Development Corporation. &#8220All diners will enjoy the experience.”
“Queens Restaurant Week is a great event for us because it promotes the rich diversity and unique cuisine found only in Flushing,” said Timothy Chuang, President of Destination Flushing Cuisine Association. &#8220The Cuisine Association invites all restaurants in Flushing to join us and promote their special menus.”
Moreover, the Flushing BID and Destination Flushing Cuisine Association will be providing a &#8220Passport to Flushing” that will offer participating customers with a 10 percent discount, free drinks and other promotional offers, and other incentives to invite customers to come back.
Raymond Chen, Vice President of Destination Flushing Cuisine Association and Owner of Maxim Chinese Restaurant, added: &#8220This is the third time that we are participating in ‘Discover Queens Restaurant Week' and we encourage everyone to come to Flushing.”
&#8220Eating food is essential for everyone and here in Flushing, it unifies our families and cultures,” said Peter Koo, Flushing BID Program Services Chair. &#8220Everybody has to eat so why not come to Flushing where we have the best food?”
“We are very happy to participate in Queens Restaurant Week to promote our restaurant,” said KumGangSan Restaurant manager Jay Kim.
So far Flushing eateries such as Chao Zhou Restaurant, KumGangSan Restaurant, Woo Chon Korean Restaurant, J & B Lobster King, Maxim Chinese Restaurant and Kyoto Japanese and Thai Restaurant have confirmed their participation in the promotional event. So have Bourbon Street and Marabella of Bayside, Esquire Diner in Ozone Park, Wine Gallery in Forest Hills, The Riverview Restaurant and Sanford Restaurant in Long Island City; and O'Lavrador in Jamaica.
