A Tree Grows In St. Albans

St. Albans community representatives including City Councilmember Leroy Comrie (center) kicked off the Greater Jamaica Development Corporation’s Critical Perimeter Planting initiative recently. Twenty-one trees will line Dunkirk Street between Camden and Brinkerhoff Avenues by December 15, offering residents visual relief from neighboring industrial blight. The program also highlights the area as a city-designated Industrial Business Zone where companies are offered incentives to locate their businesses in an effort to promote local job growth.
