Menorah lighting at Bay Terrace

Rabbi Yossi Blesofsky was joined by City Councilmember David Weprin and Senator Toby Ann Stavisky for the 12th annual Grand Menorah Lighting at Bay Terrace shopping center.
Rabbi Yossi reminded those present on Sunday, December 17, of the miracle of the light. When the Jewish people regained the temple at Jerusalem they found only enough oil for one day of light. That one container of oil burned for eight days and to remember this miracle menorahs are lit all around the world during Chanukah.
After brief speeches Rabbi Yossi and Joshua Schwartz, whose family sponsors the event, climbed into a cherry picker and lit the menorah.
The unseasonably mild weather brought out a large crowd, with many families represented by three generations.
