How did you start/get into business?
Nicolette M. Pace founded NutriSource, Inc. in 2002 to provide an array of nutrition services for a diverse community population. Having been in the nutritional field for many years both in administration and direct patient care, Nicolette saw a need to help people live to their fullest through individualized nutrition services.

What do you do?
NutriSource helps people manage their weight and other chronic conditions and health concerns, and provides disease management programs with clinical weight loss or surgical weight loss. The company covers a full range of services from pre-surgical evaluation and screening to post-operative follow-up and nutritional counseling. NutriSource, Inc. also provides life coaching evaluation programs and analyses of lab tests from a nutritional perspective. The company works with individual metabolism and cultural food preferences. “Nutrition is a field full of disinformation and we hope to set the record straight and help them apply the correct knowledge to their situation,” NutriSource founder and Managing Director Pace said.

What is special about your business?
NutriSource offers a holistic and comprehensive approach to weight loss, providing individualized treatment for patients. “We don’t superimpose cookie-cutter diets on people,” Pace said. NutriSource’s edge is embodied in Pace whose many achievements include being an ADA Registered Dietitian, a NYS Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist, AADE Certified Diabetic Educator, an AAFCS Certified Family & Consumer Scientist, an Adjunct Professor of Nutrition at Touro College Doctoral Program and Queens College, a Scientific Writer and Community Lecturer.
Many health insurance companies cover treatment received at NutriSource. “We provide an opportunity for people to get help before they end up in the hospital,” said Pace who works with kids and seniors as well as adults. “We translate the jargon for people and provide the highest possible level of education so that patients can manage their own condition.
Pace says that she measures her success in terms of meaningful weight loss that stays off, and improvement in lab tests; for example heart rates and blood pressure. “We deal with lifestyle issues,” she added saying that founding NutriSource was an opportunity to get out there with her unique knowledge and experience and affect positive chance in people’s lives. She said that initially her patients are suffering from an overabundance of self neglect. “These people put themselves last, and we’re looking to reverse that.”
