Jamaica Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs Annual Awards

The Jamaica Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs held their 3rd Annual Awards Ceremony at the Robert Ross Family Life Center on Saturday, March 10.
Trophies were presented to the children who participated in the 2006 football season. A special Bulldog trophy was presented to Councilmember Leroy Comrie for his continuing support and dedication to the team. While Liberty Park was under construction the year before last, Comrie was instrumental in finding another park for the team to use for practice allowing the program to continue.
The group was founded in 2004 by Lance and Camille Morgan for kids ages 6 to 16 of southeast Queens and is a part of the Big Apple Youth Football League. Last year 160 kids participated and more than 160 kids are expected to participate this year. They can be found practicing every Saturday at Det. Keith Williams Park or Liberty Park on 173rd Street and Liberty Avenue. The games start the first weekend in September and the team plays against teams from all over the city.
