Robert George Kirsch, formerly of College Point, passed away on April 9. He was 85 years old.
He was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the U.S. Navy. Kirsch was a lifetime employee of Sweda International where he was the New York District Service Manager until he retired in 1982. Kirsch was also a member and past master of the Masonic Anchor Lodge #729 in College Point.
Kirsch, who later moved to Naples, FL, served his community as Director of Auxiliary Police, and was awarded the key to the city in 1994.
He is survived by daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Gary Kirsch, of Meriden CT, and son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Carol Kirsch of Simsbury, CT, as well as his sister Mary DeRosa of College Point and four grandchildren, Charlie and Tommy Kirsch and Amanda and Victoria Smith, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Interment with military honors was at Arlington National Cemetery.
