JSB discusses flooding

Members of the Jewel Streets Block Association (JSB) met at the HIP Center on Lefferts Boulevard on Thursday, September 13. JSB President Liz Watt and Community Board 5 Chair Ron Dillon led a discussion about flooding in the area near the Brooklyn-Queens border.
“Every single person here should have the phone number for [Councilmember Joseph] Addabbo,” said Dillon. “The only way the politicians and city agencies are going to come out here is if they get inundated with calls.”
Since the torrential storms in August that left Queens a disaster area, Addabbo has been vocal about improving flood protection in the region.
