Two-Alarm Fire

A two-alarm fire broke out at a Kissena Boulevard condominium this past weekend, injuring one firefighter and sending residents fleeing, officials said.
The blaze erupted shortly before 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 6, sending flames shooting out of the Park Regent, a seven-story mixed residential and commercial building in the heart of downtown Flushing.
Fire Department officials said no residents were hurt, though one firefighter sustained minor injuries. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
Firefighters put out the blaze within a half hour, but not before some apartments and balconies sustained damage. Residents were allowed back into the building about an hour later.
