Chief Executive Officer
Little Flower Children and Family Services of New York
Herbert W. Stupp, Chief Executive Officer of Little Flower Children and Family Services of New York, has been appointed to a seat on the William B. Hoyt Memorial Children & Family Trust Fund Advisory Board.
The Board is a grant-making fund within the New York State Office of Children & Family Services. Established in 1984, the William B. Hoyt Memorial Children & Family Trust Fund assists in combating the serious problem of family violence in all its forms - child abuse, domestic violence and elder abuse.
Stupp, a Bayside resident, is an experienced authority in the field of services for children, the disabled and elder populations. He was appointed to this new position by Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno.
“Herbert’s commitment to this position reflects his dedication to the children of New York State,” Bruno said. “We welcome his professional excellence and leadership as the Board looks to new dimensions of development, growth and visibility.”
Early in his career, Stupp worked as a Legislative Assistant in the State Senate, and had the opportunity to work and travel with Assemblymember William Hoyt regarding major legislation and related public hearings.
Stupp then served under Mayor Rudolph Giuliani as Commissioner of the NYC Department for the Aging from 1994 to 2002.
He is currently a board member of the Council on Family and Child Caring Agencies, which serves as the principal representative for voluntary, not-for-profit organizations providing foster care, adoption, family preservation, and special education services in New York State.
Since joining Little Flower in 2002, Stupp has been a leader in championing the development of new programs, such as a new respite program for children with emotional problems, and has advanced systems to better utilize fiscal and human resources in the agency.
