Dr. Kemeny listed in Best Doctors in America

Dr. Margaret Kemeny, the director of Queens Hospital’s Cancer Center has been recognized by her peers and has been awarded the honor of being included in the Best Doctors in America 2007-2008 database.
In order to be included on the list of the Best Doctors in America 2007-2008, a doctor must “earn consensus support of their peers.” About 40,000 doctors are included in the list. This honor ranks Kemeny as one of the top five percent of doctors in the United States.
In June of 2001, Kemeny became the director of the Queens Cancer Center. She formerly was the Chief of the Division of Surgical Oncology and Executive Director of the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Center at the State University of New York at Stony Brook Medical Center. Other past positions held by Kemeny include being the Chief of the Division of Surgical Oncology at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset from 1993 to 1998, Chief of Surgical Oncology at Saint Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center in Manhattan from 1986 to 1993 and Senior Surgeon, General and Oncologic Surgery, at the City of Hope National Medical Center in California.
Kemeny, who is a graduate of Harvard University and the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, has been recognized before for her achievements. She has also been included in Castle Connolly Guide’s Top Doctors: New York Metro Area as a leading surgeon and has been included on New York Magazine’s “How to Find the Best Doctors in New York.”
