Seniors and kids got together to learn about each other and the internet at this recent workshop, sponsored by 1800FLOWERS.COM and the Samuel Field YMHA in Little Neck recently. The youngsters and old-timers got to learn how to connect generations through the use of the internet. The workshop was held at the Y’s computer lab and included demonstrations on websites such as Google, Hotmail and eons.com, a social networking site exclusively for the 50+ crowd. The internet florist donated a laptop to the Y to support their computer programs. Jeri Mendelsohn, Assistant Executive Director of Y, said she “believes in the power of the intergenerational program to help foster learning and understanding.” It looks like a lot of both were happening.
