The Queens Courier, El Correo de Queens and Modelamos Talent Agency partnered to create the Miss Chiquitita Event in 2006. This annual Event is for girls ages 4-14 and is broken into five age groups.
The event’s mission is to motivate young girls to have the best future possible by building their self-esteem. The skill sets include:
-Essay Writing/Essay Contests
-Academic Achievement
-Drawing
-Speaking
-Dressing/Modeling
-Walking
-Singing
-Dancing
-Presentations
-Pride In Culture By Dressing In Their Native Country’s Apparel
-Etiquette & Good Manners
The grand prize for the 13-14 year category is a 4-year college scholarship to a CUNY school.
