Pamela Boneparth, a senior at Lawrence Woodmere Academy, has recently been named to the NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America)/Adidas Girls High School Scholar All-America Team.
She was recently honored at the NSCAA All-America Luncheon, which was held as part of the 2008 NSCAA Convention in Baltimore, MD. She was awarded a one-year membership to the NSCAA, two All-America award certificates and a gift from Adidas.
This honor is bestowed upon only 35 high school soccer players nationwide who demonstrate superior academic and athletic abilities. They are nominated by their coaches.
When Lawrence Woodmere Academy won the PSAA championship against Long Island Lutheran in 2006, Pamela was named the league’s Most Valuable Player.
“Pammy is one of the most outstanding student athletes ever to attend LWA,” Athletic Director Jeff Weiss said. “In my 20 years at the school, I haven’t seen anyone work harder than Pammy in all facets of student life. She is the model of what a student athlete should represent. Because of her outstanding soccer ability, she has brought much recognition to our school. Everyone in the LWA community is proud of all her accomplishments.”
“It’s nice when organizations honor both sides of an athlete,” her coach at Lawrence Woodmere Academy, John Schandler, said. “Pammy is a very impressive soccer player and talented student.” Boneparth will be joining her sister Caroline on the University of North Carolina soccer team in the fall. Caroline graduated from Lawrence Woodmere Academy in 2006 and was a member of the NSCAA/Adidas Girls High School Scholar All-America Team of 2006. Boneparth plans to major in either Economics or Political Science.
