George Carlin once said, “The reason we have a dope problem in the United States is that we have far too many dopes.” And he’s exactly right. The pharmaceutical business in the United States has never been healthier. It seems the only place that getting fat is acceptable is in the pockets of the drug companies. By today’s standards they’re obese. And if it’s not enough to make money on the drugs they produce, they also have a finger in the additive pie as well. Recently a friend sent me an e-mail about Aspartame, the non-sugar sweetener. Basically it was about a woman who was obese and had become so sick that she could no longer walk and was wheelchair-bound. She was wracked with pain day in and day out. No amount of drugs helped, nor could her doctors find out what was behind it all. The e-mail further stated — When she felt that she was near the end of the line, she decided to take one last trip with relatives. She made the arrangements and a day or two before she was ready to leave, someone sent her an e-mail about Aspartame. Being heavy and wanting to lose weight, like many people, she was a diet drink addict. She had nothing to lose so she decided she would give it one more shot. She gave it up. Several days later she was walking. Why? When my friend sent me the e-mail I turned to my best friend Google and looked it up. Wonders of all wonder, Aspartame is really bad stuff. It seems that its quite safe when it’s cold, but when it’s heated over 86 degrees a funny thing happens — it turns from a mild mannered sugar substitute into formaldehyde, a deadly neurotoxin, It’s also the stuff that embalmers use when we’re dead to preserve our bodies. Not for nuthin, but why do manufacturers keep on using it? Because it keeps their pockets fat. They don’t want to lose any weight. After looking up literally dozens of sites dedicated to Aspartame poisoning, I discovered many interesting facts. For instance, Aspartame was bounced by the FDA many, many times as being unhealthy — far too many links with brain cancer and a host of other nasty conditions. It wasn’t until the early 80’s when the FDA finally approved it. The time line is what really caught my eye. Ronald Reagan had just become president. He was friends with Donald Rumsfeld – yes Donald, weapons of Mass Destruction Rumsfeld — who just happened to be the CEO of Searle Laboratories at the time. Donny talked to Ronny and the rest, as they say, is history. Searle Laboratories, a former floundering company was now healthy and chubby and putting out as much Aspartame as the county could consume. Aside from the neurotoxin aspect, it also affects the area in the brain affected by dopamine, and is highly addictive. Dr. H.J. Roberts wrote in article published in Townsend Letter for Doctors, “It also showed the chronic methanol poisoning, and it is this that affects the dopamine system of the brain and causes the addiction. Methanol is classified as a narcotic, and is one of the three components of aspartame.” According to Ralph Walton, MD., “Aspartame has a profound effect on mood and cognition….depressed mood, anxiety, dizziness, panic attacks, nausea, irritability, impairment of memory and concentration.” So let’s see – get the population addicted to Aspartame – then when they begin to suffer from all the depression, anxiety, panic attacks, yada, yada, yada, we can give them more drugs, which will make our pockets fuller, and keep the drug roller coaster going. So after all the research, and being a diet drink and sugar substitute junkie myself – I took the challenge – I gave it all up. They say it takes 30 to 60 days to realize the full effect – but I can truthfully say it only took a week before I realized the benefits. How sweet it is. Try it for yourself.
