Bicyclist Struck, Killed By Box Truck

A bicyclist was riding on 55th Road and Queens Boulevard when he emerged from between two parked cars and was struck by a freight liner box truck.
The 22-year-old victim, identified as Rahman Asif of Jamaica, was taken to St. John’s Queens Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The 38-year-old male driver of the truck remained on the scene. There is no criminality suspected and an investigation is ongoing.
