Web Exclusive: Molloy makes mark in javelin throw

Archbishop Molloy won the CHSAA Brooklyn/Queens sectional track & field championship last week for the fourth consecutive season with 116 team points, and owned the javelin throw, placing Stanners in the top positions, led by two-time city champion Brittany Dombrowski. Also placing was junior Adara Simonelli; junior Nicole Bonilla; sophomore Andrea Martinez; and sophomore Megan Fuchs.

Dombrowski, a Breezy Point native, set the sectional record and owns the school mark with a toss of 128 feet and 11 inches. The five Molloy girls are also in the top 10 of the state’s leaderboard.

Molloy will look to win the city championship this weekend at Icahn Stadium on Randall’s Island, where their stiffest competition is expected to be Kellenberg.
