Open 365 days a year until midnight, the doctors and nurses at PM Pediatrics offer a health care experience that is anything but typical. The staff at PM Pediatrics is focused on providing children, adolescents and their families with the ultimate in care, comfort and convenience. At times when most doctors’ offices are closed, PM Pediatrics offers a full spectrum of care and can diagnose and treat all but the most critical illnesses and injuries, with no appointment needed. They function as a legitimate alternative to the emergency room for most illnesses and injuries.
Wounds that require stitches, broken bones and sprains, fevers, asthma and respiratory illnesses, dehydrations, exacerbation of chronic health issues, and vomiting and diarrhea are among the injuries and ailments treated by PM Pediatrics. On-site laboratory services allow for quick test results to diagnose strep throat, influenza, mononucleosis, RSV and other ailments, while the on-site digital X-ray produces high-resolution images that can quickly be sent to other physicians if necessary. PM Pediatrics stocks common medications to allow patients to start treatments without the need to immediately fill a prescription.
PM Pediatrics is staffed by Pediatric Emergency Specialists who are trained in treating children with urgent needs. If a patient does require hospital admission, the staff will commonly arrange for direct-to-floor admission to make the experience as comfortable as possible for the child and his or her caregivers.
Aetna, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Empire Plan, Oxford, United, GHI, HIP/Vytra, Cigna and Amerigroup are participant insurers. Neighborhood Health Plan and Health Plus will be participating shortly and the practice is in negotiations with a number of additional managed care organizations.
