Relay for Life team invites new runners

The Relay for Life of Forest Hills will commence at the West Side Tennis Club at 6 p.m. on June 28 and run overnight into June 29 to honor cancer survivors, remember loved ones and raise funds to fight cancer.
Team Davidov invites everyone to join their team or, if not able to attend, to consider making a donation. To register as part of Team Davidov, sponsor the team or donate to the American Cancer Society, e-mail liana@davidovlaw.com or call 718-793-7000. Team members do not have to be athletes or practiced runners.
Funds raised will help support American Cancer Society programs in research, education, advocacy and service within the locale, state and nation. The nationwide community-based voluntary health organization is dedicated to preventing and diminishing the effects of cancer.
Survivors are invited to take a victory lap around the track as fellow participants cheer them on in a celebration of their courage. The Survivor’s Lap begins at 6 p.m.
A candlelight ceremony, at 9 p.m., will pay tribute to those who have been affected by cancer. Luminarias are candles placed in white bags filled with sand that are positioned around the track or bleachers and are kept burning throughout the night to represent the healing power of community and the importance of finding a cure.
