Maltese honors Italian Americans

State Senator Serphin R. Maltese, former President of the New York Italian American State Legislators Conference, and Syracuse Assemblymember William Magnarelli presented “Italian American of Distinction” awards to Tom Golisano and Peter Cardella in recognition of their commitment to Italian Americans.
Golisano is owner of the Buffalo Sabres hockey team and founder of Paychex, Inc. and Cardella is the Chair of the Cardella Senior Center and founder of the Italian American Professional and Businessman’s Association as well as the Italian American Federation of Brooklyn and Queens.
The legislators’ conference brings together Italian Americans from throughout New York State to discuss important issues relating to Italian Americans and celebrate their heritage and shared history.
