Mother, daughter injured after brakes fail

A mother and her 19-year-old daughter smashed into a garage when the brakes on their car failed.
The garage, on 212th Street in Hollis, then collapsed onto the Nissan Maxima. The daughter was able to climb out, only suffering a bloody leg in the crash. Her mother was not as lucky, as it took medics nearly 20 minutes to pull her out of the wreck. Both were taken to Mary Immaculate Hospital where the mother is listed in critical condition.
According to reports, the car had just come from the repair shop. Family members will try to determine if the mechanic was negligent, according to reports.
