Residents of South Ozone Park remain stunned over the brutal slaying of a 25-year-old pregnant woman on the day she was to give birth.
According to reports, Niasha Delain was found stabbed in her apartment on Lefferts Boulevard on Saturday, October 25. Police say she also had lacerations on her torso and her neck was slashed. She and her unborn child were pronounced dead on the scene.
Her body was found by her mother and boyfriend. Delain’s mother reportedly became concerned after she hadn’t heard from her daughter in a few days.
When asked, one resident who did not want to give a name, said, “It’s not really a bad neighborhood, but bad things can happen. What happened to that girl is tragic.”
So far, police have no suspects in the case. There were reportedly no signs of forced entry.
