Dine like a king on American Airlines

You don’t have to be a king to dine like one. That’s what American Airlines thinks with its new International Flagship Service.
American, working along with The Royal Chef Darren McGrady, will be offering First and Business Class passengers traveling on American Airlines westbound European flights new palate-pleasing plates with a mixed European flavor.
The new food items “took-off” on November 1.
“American Airlines is committed to enhancing the travel experience for our customers and we view dining as an integral part of the experience,” said John Tiliacos, American’s Managing Director - Onboard Products.
“We are excited to offer Chef McGrady’s culinary delights to our customers as they travel from Europe,” Tiliacos added.
Chef McGrady, who cooked at the Royal Kitchen in Buckingham Palace from 1982 to 1993, spoke about his experience as a chef and about working with the airline.
“I spent 15 years cooking for the British Royal Family and during that time prepared food to the highest standard using the best produce available for the royal family, kings, queens, presidents and heads of state around the world on a daily basis,” Chef McGrady said.
“It is an honor and a pleasure to be invited to share some of those dishes with American Airlines passengers.”
The dishes will exhibit ingredients typical to English cuisine, with flavors that will please all passengers alike.
Among the items to select are Beef Filet, Stuffed Chicken and Oatmeal-Crusted Pork. Each month, passengers will have something new on the menu to try.
Chef McGrady worked as Private Chef at Kensington Palace for Princess Diana from 1993 to 1997, the year of her death.
Since Princess Diana’s death, he has spent much of his free time working for causes she supported, like the Pink Ribbon Crusade, where he is currently a board member.
In July 2007, he published his first cookbook Eating Royally - Recipes and Remembrances of a Palace Kitchen, with all the royalties from the book going to the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation.
