Green Business Summit
The Queens Chamber of Commerce and a number of partners will host the first Queens Green Business Summit on Friday, January 23, at Queens College, Student Union that will both challenge and identify ways to innovate in a green economy by setting attainable, measurable and sustainable business practices. Basic Computer Lessons
On Friday, January 23 at 11 a.m., Auburndale Library will present Basic Computer Lessons. For adult beginners, a one-on-one half-hour tutoring session. Financial Planning Workshops
On Saturday, January 24 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 a.m., York College, of the City University of New York (www.york.cuny.edu) will hold a series of free financial planning workshops at an economic forum, “A New Plan for a New Year: How to Manage in Challenging Times,” at 94-20 Guy R. Brewer Blvd., in Room 2D01, Jamaica, New York. There will also be free tax workshops from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Co-sponsors of the event are the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Amalgamated Bank, Citibank, Prudential and The Burgess Group.
The workshops, open to the public, are intended to provide information to assist constituents in financial decision-making. Workshops will include how to’s on tax preparation, mortgage programs, financial planning, Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA) and employment.

Secrets to Perfect Credit

Internet for Adults
On Tuesday, January 27 at 10:30 a.m., Queens Village Library will present Introduction to the Internet for Adults. In this session, adults will learn the basics of searching and browsing the web and how to type a web site address. Registration is required and you must have a library card.
