Parks worker robbed in Juniper Valley Park

MIDDLE VILLAGE — Police in the 104th Precinct were searching for a man who robbed a city Parks Department employee early in the morning of Dec. 19 in Juniper Valley Park.

The woman was unlocking one of the park’s bathrooms at 7:30 a.m. when the man, described as being 6−foot−4 and about 200 pounds, approached her from behind and hit her in the head, police said.

The victim was not seriously injured, but the suspect escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said. Police canvassed the area, but were unable to locate the suspect.
