QCP gets donation from Courier event

Joshua Schneps (left), Co-Publisher of The Queens Courier, presented a check for $1,900 to Charles Houston, Executive Director, and Maryann McAleer, Director of Development, of the Queens Centers for Progress (QCP). The monies, which will go toward the purchase of equipment for QCP’s Children’s Center, are from the proceeds of the raffle and silent auction from this year’s Top Women in Business Networking Awards Dinner.
QCP promotes the independence of several thousand individuals with developmental disabilities. Services include education, therapy, job training and placement, day programs, advocacy, service coordination, housing and many other support services.
“Victoria [Schneps-Yunis, Publisher, The Queens Courier] knows how important services like this are, so we certainly appreciate it” said Houston. “Every bit from the community helps.”
“We really do appreciate this very much,” echoed McAleer.
Schneps-Yunis said, “It was our pleasure to help benefit the unique services offered by the Queens Centers for Progress, which are so critical to our community.”
