Driver killed when car slams into tree

SOUTH OZONE PARK — A man was killed early Sunday morning in a single-vehicle accident, police in the 106th Precinct said.

At 5:40 a.m., officers responded to the service road of the southbound Van Wyck Expressway at 111th Street where they determined the driver of a Honda Fit had lost control of the car and struck a tree.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. He had not been identified by press time Tuesday.
